Psychiatry is a specialisation that aims at the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental, emotional, and behavioural disorders. It is understanding the, underlying biological, psychological, and social factors which contribute to mental health conditions.
Psychotherapy involves a participative dialogue between a therapist and patient thereby understand issues and develop strategies to cope with it, based on the individual’s specific needs and the mental health condition.
The objective is to eliminate or control distressing symptoms.
The therapy could be delivered in individual, couple, family, or group settings depending on the requirement.
